SUBJECT: The university invites applications for admission to the following courses: 1) BHMCT / BFAD / MCA / MBA / BTech (lateral entry to the second year for diploma holders) 2) BTech / BTech (agricultural engineering) / BPharm / BArch. The selection test will be held on April 19, 2008, for candidates opting for the courses in group 1 and April 20, 2008, for other candidates.

JAPANESE GOVERNMENT (MONBUKAGAKUSHO: MEXT) SCHOLARSHIP FOR 2008

SUBJECT: MEXT (ministry of education, culture, sports, science and technology), Government of Japan, is offering a 1,70,000 yen (Rs 56,000) per month scholarship to school teachers who wish to conduct research on school education at Japanese universities. Fees for tuition, enrollment and entrance examination are covered by MEXT. The training course will be conducted in Japanese between October 2008 and March 2010. The courses mainly consist of educational administration, educational methods, specialised subject research and observational tours and practice.
ELIGIBILITY: The incumbent must be born on or after April 2, 1973. He or she must be a graduate of a university or a teacher-training school and have worked as a teacher in an elementary or secondary educational institution or a teacher-training school in his / her home country for at least five years as of April 1, 2008. The applicant must be willing to learn Japanese and receive research guidance in Japanese. Foreign students whose Japanese language ability is insufficient will be taught the language at the appointed university or at a university designated by MEXT. Japanese-language education is generally provided for six months at the beginning of the programme, but some universities may conduct Japanese language education parallel to the training. Please note that each grantee needs to bring US$1,500 or the equivalent to cover immediate needs after arrival in Japan.
