With just a few weeks left for the board exams, various online portals offer special assistance to students, be it counselling or even mock tests.
For instance, to help reduce exam stress and to improve performance among students appearing for the board exams, www.extramarks.com recently introduced revision packages in a virtual class format.
Elaborates Atul Kulshrestha, chairman, Extramarks.com: “With our ‘Fastrack Board Revision Pack’ students can browse through 14 online classes, by experienced teachers, that helps them revise all their important board chapters. They have the freedom to choose from any of the 14 lessons from the list of important chapters of maths and science. They can also choose from the two additional sessions on exam strategy. The complete package would cost them Rs 2,000.”
He adds: “Participants will also be given an access to special self-test sessions, solved board and model test papers absolutely free for a fixed period from February 15 to March 30.”
Similarly, live tutors offer their expertise in helping students solve their last minute problems at www.learninghour.com . The website has also created a special series of mock examination papers for the class X and XII boards. These are representative of the actual examinations and have been developed keeping in mind possible questions that may appear in actual exams. These tests are being offered free of cost to registered students.
Informs Chandan Agarwal, founder, Learninghour.com : “At a time when students are desperately scrambling to revise their syllabus, we have also launched a helpline wherein students can talk to tutors for their last minute questions and doubts before their exams. By means of video conferencing, a student can see the tutor, talk to him and have him write on the screen like a notebook, using a digital pen.”
Further, www.steps.tcyonline.com has introduced ‘live support’ on its home page. According to Atul Prashar, centre head, students can make use of the ‘live support’ in case they have any immediate issues to discuss.
He adds: “We also offer chapter-wise online tests, revision notes, topic-wise assignments that students can download and attempt, previous years’ papers. Besides tips on stress and time management for students and parents.”

Its pretty good that now a days we have got so many options for students. Instead of hunting for a new tution teacher every year for my younger brother. I can simply open up http://www.extramarks.com and i can sit with him…to see if his doubts gets cleared or not. That too anytime and anywhere. I mean I can clear any doubt of my brother anytime. That’s the best part.
I must say Mr. Atul Kulshrestha(www.extramarks.com), which i liked the most has started a new era of online studies, which will very much helpful for people like my brother.
