In order to assist eligible candidates in preparing for the group discussion/personal interview (GD/PI) process post CAT, the students of Indian Institute of Management, Indore (IIM-I) have started a mentorship forum specifically for those aspiring for a seat in IIM-I.

The forum will operate through the website www.iimindore360.com - the website developed and maintained by its students. Those aspiring to get a seat in IIM-I will have an edge in GD/PI preparation as the forum will provide personal mentor from the present batch - mentors who have undergone these grilling sessions and know the dos and don’ts of the game.

“The idea is to assist the aspiring candidates in crossing the final hurdle by providing them with in-depth insights and tips from the people who have been there, done that,” said Anindya Biswas, a student of the 2007-09 batch and a member of the initiative.

Speaking further about the forum, Biswas said, “Whoever registers will get to know about the post CAT selection process from first hand accounts of the students. besides a mentor is just a phone call away.”

But this forum is not just about and limited to IIM-I aspirants, as any student who has received calls from any of the IIMs can register and gain access to this support.

However, personalised mentorship will be available only for IIM-I aspirants.

Moreover, once the selection process is over, the successful students will also get support during and after the admission process, like assistance in library, accommodation and transportation.

On the future prospects of the website and the initiative, Biswas said that the website will serve as a knowledge bank for management students having contributions from the faculty and students. “We will also showcase our project work to boost our industry interface. It will carry travel and music blogs as well,” he added.

The financial journal of IIM-I will also be available on this website.
